I paint real and imagined places on paper with pastels. Some of my pastel landscapes are abstracts done in the studio while others are done directly from life.
 
My work has been in a number of local and national juried shows,including the Pastel Society of America's 38th Juried Exhibition in New York City and Pastel Journal's Annual 100.
 
I added pastels to my art media arsenal because I relish their rich colors, immediacy and portability. My prior career as a landscape architect-- creating three dimensional spaces, designing with shadow, sunlight, color and texture--naturally inspired my passion for painting landscapes, real and imagined.
